Sponsored by Art of the Middle East: Contemporary and Farhang Foundation, the day honors the Iranian New Year and the first day of spring with live performances in traditional costume, music, storytelling, calligraphy, and a viewing of the traditional Nowruz alter known as a Haft Seen. The world premiere of Spring Love by Ziba Shirazi takes place at 2pm in the museum’s Bing Theater, and celebrates holiday traditions through music, dance, and the depiction of three generations of family experiencing love at first sight. Later, the London-based band, Ajam, performs outdoors and showcases how the holiday is celebrated across the country.
