As yellow beach balls bounced above the audience, buoyed by beats from such bands as The Lumineers, Death Cab for Cutie, and Atlas Genius, as well as performances by Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine and Lenny Kravitz, wine country’s fourth annual BottleRock Napa Valley festival kicked off the region’s music-filled summer season on Friday, May 27. Chefs including Masaharu Morimoto, Tyler Florence and Michael Voltaggio as well as local vintners and brewers were also on hand for the three-day event headlined by The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stevie Wonder, and Welch’s band.
