Valentino brand ambassador Carlos Souza was back in the Bay Area on Tuesday, April 28, co-hosting an intimate luncheon at Hakkasan San Francisco with Carol Bonnie, Carolyn Chang, and Allison Speer in honor of the California Pacific Medical Center. The Cantonese cuisine sparked conversations about the 2015 Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala and new exhibition, China: Through the Looking Glass. Valentino dressed Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne and wife Hannah Bagshawe, as well as Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet for the New York event.

After lunch, guests including Vanessa Getty, Sloan Barnett, Angelique Griepp, Denise Hale, Victoire Reynal Brown, Suzanne Levit, Marybeth Shimmon, Hillary Thomas and Katie Traina headed to the Italian house’s Grant Avenue boutique for dessert. Many of the guests shopped for frocks to wear to Churchill Downs for the Kentucky Derby.
