Benefitting her non-profit organization, The Representation Project, filmmaker and actress Jennifer Siebel Newsom took over S.F.’s Castro Theatre for a special screening of her documentary, The Mask You Live In, on Wednesday, December 2. The evening fundraiser, hosted by Mark Rhoades, stayed true to the foundation’s mission, which uses film as a platform to challenge gender inequality, stereotypes and injustices in today’s world. Among the 1,200 audience members was fashion icon and notable philanthropist Joy Venturini Bianchi who participated in an exclusive Q&A with Newsom following the screening. Special guest, Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom, also took to the stage, capping off the sold out showing with though-provoking words on the film’s powerful message.
