San Francisco Decorator Showcase
This year’s San Francisco Decorator Showcase opened on April 29 with a series of elegant parties to fete the 29 participating designers, architects, artists and art galleries.
Housed in a historic 1904 residence in the heart of Pacific Heights designed by architects Newsom and Newsom, the 2017 showcase features the work of San Francisco designers including Catherine Kwong, Beth Martin, Mead Quin, Jonathan Rachman, Chloe Warner, Jon de la Cruz, Dina Bandman, and Martin Kobus. Of special interest were the pale green hand-painted and hand-embroidered wallpaper by de Gournay in Jonathan Rachman’s living room, and the dramatic Rembrandt-inspired art and décor in the library of Martin Kobus.
On hand to kick off the opening festivities were members of the de Gournay family, including founder Claud Cecil Gurney. Interior designers in attendance included Suzanne Tucker, Brenda Mickel, Jean Larette, Grant Gibson, David Bjorngaard, Jaimie Belew, Chris Eskra, Adele Salierno, and Krista Hoffman.
Over the past 40 years, the San Francisco Decorator Showcase has raised more than $15 million to benefit the San Francisco University High School Financial Aid Program.
