Summer at Stonescape
Norman and Norah Stone threw their bi-annual summer party in conjunction with the opening of Revealed, the latest exhibition mounted inside their Napa Valley Stonescape estate on Saturday, July 20. Guests viewed the installation depicting various approaches to portraiture inside the couple’s 5,750-square-foot underground art cave designed by New York-based architecture firm Bade Stageberg Cox. Omitting the traditional underground wine cellar, typical of wine country residents, the Stones use the temperate space to display their art collection. Guests including artist James Turrell, who designed a skyspace in the couple’s swimming pool, joined art collectors including Trevor Traina and Dick and Pamela Kramlich. In addition to the exhibition, the first U.S. screening of Philippe Parreno’s film, Marilyn, was shown at the Cameo Cinema in St. Helena.
