All of the festivities including the dining, music, and exotic species that made up Zootopia 2014 were held inside the Lion House at the San Francisco Zoo on Friday, February 26. Chaired by Michelle Molfino and Corey Hyde, the benefit honored Pamela Joyner who is known for her support of the S.F. Zoological Society and S.F. Zoo Auxiliary. Guests gathered to support the Zoo’s mission to connect people with wildlife through first-hand exposure to animals, zoological education, and children’s benefit programs such as ZooMobile, a transportable zoo that brings animals to school-aged children to spark their interest in biology and life sciences. Funds also went to the organization’s animal care programs and search and rescue initiatives. Attendees took part in sabering lessons during cocktail hour, dined on a multi-course menu paired with wine, and got a front row seat beside the lions’ den.
