In anticipation of Dream The Red Chamber‘s world premiere, the San Francisco Opera held a celebratory affair at S.F.’s Asian Art Museum on Wednesday, December 16. Attendees, including Goretti Lui, Helen Cheng, Suno Osterweis and David Gockley, enjoyed a musical taste of the opera to come, along with details of the full cast and crew and official September 2016 opening. Renowned composer Bright Sheng, playwright David Henry Hwang, stage director Stan Lai and academy award-winning art director and designer Tim Yip are just a few of the creative forces behind the 18-century novel adaptation that has opera fanatics buzzing.
