On Thursday, the San Francisco Ballet celebrated its 83rd Repertory Season Opening Night Gala in style with a musical taste of the 2016 season to come at the S.F. War Memorial Opera House. The opulent affair began with the annual benefit dinner at City Hall and continued with the evening’s line-up of lively performances, including “Adagio” from Carmen and a pas de deux from Swan Lake. Decked in glamorous gowns and polished suits, benefactors and ballet enthusiasts from across the Golden State, such as Vanessa Getty, Nancy Pelosi and Karen Caldwell, enjoyed breathtaking excerpts from the season’s most anticipated productions. Following the show, guests returned to City Hall for a lively after-party, where deejays and live bands provided entertainment into the early morning.
