The Metropolitan Club, founded in 1915, celebrated its 100th anniversary on Thursday, November 5th at the club’s National Register building on 640 Sutter Street. The 640 Heritage Preservation Foundation hosted the fundraiser, celebrating the first women’s athletic club west of Chicago, created by a group of women in the Bay Area to ensure it’s preservation. More than 350 guests enjoyed the Dick Bright Orchestra as well as dinner prepared by McCall’s Associates while recognizing this important piece of women’s history.
