In Good Company Returns to San Francisco
The second annual installment of In Good Company, a one-day conference devoted to creative entrepreneurial mothers and launched by Mother magazine co-founder Katie Hintz-Zambrano, returned to Fort Mason on Friday, September 28.
This year’s eclectic roster of speakers featured Every Mother Counts founder (and C’s October cover star) Christy Turlington Burns, among others. “The fact that we had Christy Turlington there is still such a pinch-me moment,” said Hintz-Zambrano. “The life she’s chosen to live is awe-inspiring. She’s consistently defied any labels or limits put on her. Her work in advocating for global maternal health was a perfect fit for our audience—400 women, most of who are mothers who are passionate about righting the wrongs they see.”
The evening prior to the event, Hintz-Zambrano hosted a speakers’ dinner at Chandran Gallery, complete with a meal catered by Dominica Rice-Cisneros and Yo También Cantina, and featuring an arresting installation by artist Elena Stonaker. “The beautiful thing is that these women are from a variety of disciplines—journalism, fine art, food, fashion, finance, tech, etc.,” said Hintz-Zambrano of the guests, which included designer Mara Hoffman, Tartine bakery co-founder Liz Prueitt, and Teen Vogue fashion director Rajni Jacques. “This unique and unexpected mix of the women at the table—and at the conference—is really what it’s all about.”
