Gucci and GQ + Build
The World Series was the perfect backdrop to a boys’ night out benefiting BUILD, hosted by Gucci and GQ on Tuesday, October 28, in San Francisco, at the Italian fashion house’s Union Square boutique. Flat screens broadcast the penultimate game between the San Francisco Giants and the Kansas City Royals during the cocktail event that brought together Tipping Point founder and CEO Daniel Lurie, GQ publisher Howard Mittman, Tipping Point board member Alec Perkins and IfOnly founder and CEO Trevor Traina, all fans of the home team. The evening’s beneficiary, BUILD, is a Tipping Point grantee founded to help disadvantaged students complete high school and attend college. “I haven’t missed a playoff game this year,” said Perkins. Traina, whose charity auction site offers exclusive experiences for purchase, said his son got a seat inside AT&T Park for one of the games. “Sunday I gave up my ticket so my seven year old could go to the game,” Traina said. “And he ended up sitting next to Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, and Barry Bonds.”
