Leslie Podell and Amanda Michael celebrated the opening of new Presidio Heights Glassybaby glass votive boutique in San Francisco on Monday, December 9. Company founder Lee Rhodes was inspired to create the hand-blown glass candleholders during her battle with lung cancer in the late ’90s. In San Francisco, Glassybaby partnered with UCSF Medical Center at Mission Bay and a portion of the proceeds of each sale of the new UCSF Glassybaby candle—an almost opaque shade of white named Kindness—will go towards patient programs and the daily needs of those who seek treatment at Mission Bay. Additionally, a percentage of all December sales from the Presidio Heights boutique will aid patient programs at the Mission Bay hospital complex.
