Flavor Napa Valley
Foodies and wine aficionados alike gathered for Northern California’s exclusive food and wine festival, Flavor! Napa Valley, held at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone from Wednesday, November 20 to Sunday, November 24. Evenings were filled with innovative dinners dreamed up by chefs who traveled to the famed wine region for the five-day event that also included cooking demonstrations and tours of Napa’s bucolic vineyards and restaurants. This year’s star-studded culinary roster included Chef Cindy Pawlcyn, author and founder of Cindy’s Backstreet Kitchen; Chef Masaharu Morimoto, Iron Chef America star and owner of Morimoto restaurants including the outpost in downtown Napa; and Larry Forgione, co-founder of Greystone’s Conservatory for American Food Studies. After culinary demonstrations by Morimoto and The Restaurant at Meadowood’s Christopher Kostow, guests tested their palates by tasting blends from over 100 participating wineries, including Robert Mondavi, Fontanella, Cakebread Cellars, and Trefethen.
