Gretchen Hansen, CEO and founder of innovative online interior design service Decorist, hosted an intimate cocktail party for model-turned-designer India Hicks at Hansen’s Presidio Terrace home on Tuesday, April 5. As the new Decorist celebrity designer, Hicks—an English blue blood by birth and Bohemian lifestyle guru by trade—discussed the inspirations behind her new book, India Hicks: Island Style, and her design passions to fellow tastemakers, designers and entrepreneurs like Lauren Geremia and Scot Meacham Wood. The event also doubled as a trunk show for Hicks, whose bags, beauty and accessories from her lifestyle brand, India Hicks Inc., were on display amongst revelers. While guests enjoyed drinks and hors d’oeuvres, Hicks and Hansen also livestreamed videos on entertaining in style for the Decorist Facebook page, letting interior design enthusiasts not in attendance in on her tricks of the trade.
