de Young’s 10th anniversary gala
On Wednesday, October 14, San Francisco patrons commemorated the de Young Museum’s 10th Anniversary of its new building with a black-tie gala held inside its architectural copper-shielded walls. The museum, the oldest in San Francisco and one of the most visited in the country since reopening its new home in 2005, welcomed many notable guests like Nancy Pelosi, Belva Davis and Vanessa Getty. Former mayor Willie Brown and Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco President Dede Wilsey gave moving speeches and rang in the opening of the new exhibition, “Jewel City: Art From San Francisco’s Panama-Pacific International Exposition,” which will be on view until January 10.
