More than 81,000 Porsche connoisseurs gathered at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca near Monterey at this year’s Rennsport Reunion VI to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the German luxury marque’s first sportscar.

The four-day fete—September 27 through September 30—had a record turnout of attendees, among them 50 champion drivers including Hurley Haywood, Derek Bell and Jacky Ickx. Chopard’s own co-president, Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, himself a Porsche enthusiast races a 550A Spyder RS in the Mille Miglia every year.

Seven decades of the auto manufacturer’s history were on display in the form of 2,000 new and vintage models, from the debut 919 Hybrid Evo to mint-condition Tractors from the ’50s and ’60s, at the Heritage Display tent presented by Chopard. The show coincided with an exhibit of the Swiss house’s watches, and the debut of its new Mille Miglia Classic Chronograph Racing Stripes Edition, a 50-piece limited-edition timepiece.

To mark the watch launch, Ickx and Scheufele hosted an exclusive dinner, welcoming esteemed such guests as Porsche LMP1 vice president, Fritz Enzinger, and team principal, Andreas Seidl; Timo Bernhard; André Lotterer; Earl Bamber; Neel Jani and others.
