Salvatore Ferragamo, C Magazine, and Ken Fulk threw a vibrant celebratory bash with Vanessa Getty, Susan Casden, Sabrina Buell, Heather Rosenfield, Vandy Boudreau, Lindsay Bolton, Kathryn Freeman and C’s Jennifer Hale all clad in looks from the Italian fashion house for the launch of C Social Front in San Francisco on Thursday, September 19. Fulk and his team created an Art Deco palace—including an installation of elegant Ferragamo shoes (and some edgier models) from the company’s archives—inside a four-floor brick and timber building in SoMa that formerly housed a furniture factory and now serves as his company headquarters. “We’ve turned it into a magic factory for the evening,” said Fulk, who donned a deep-red velvet Ferragamo jacket for the evening. The storied Italian line chose the evening to herald the opening of its new Post Street boutique in Union Square this December. Creative director Massimiliano Giornetti’s ready to wear collections for men and for women will be on display in the new space, alongside handbags, luggage, belts, fine jewelry, scarves, ties, and, of course, shoes.

Downstairs in his famed Peep Show emporium, Fulk and his team evoked William Randolph Hearst’s San Simeon, complete with miniature bathing pools decorated with mosaic tiles and marble-like pedestals for shoes. Upstairs, he devised what he called a “full-throttle Gatsby-esque dance party,” where DJ Michael Smith had guests kicking up their heels (many clad in chic pointed-toe patent leather Ferragamos) beneath a ceiling filled with golden balloons. Revelers couldn’t help but view California’s newest golden age through a tower of rosé-colored Champagne glasses that would have made F. Scott Fitzgerald proud. A camera-clad paparazzo stood poised to capture headline-grabbing photographs of guests posed in a 16-foot high bed. An outdoor terrace gave party-goers a view of the sparkling lights downtown as well as a glimpse of the merriment on the dance floor. And, the music and flowing Champagne kept everyone on their feet well into the night. “San Francisco is my adopted hometown,” said Fulk. “And this bit of Baz Luhrmann channeled through my filter is meant to go late.”
