Bay Area JDRF Hope Gala 2015
The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), hosted its 17th annual Hope Gala at the Ritz-Carlton, San Francisco on Saturday, May 30, raising over $1,170,000 for type 1 diabetes research. During the ceremony, John Brady, chair of the JDRF International Board of Directors, presented Pam Sagan and Dayton Coles with the Living and Giving Award for their contributions to the diabetes community. He noted that Sagan has been a supporter of the organization since 1989, when her two-year old daughter was diagnosed with the disease. Similarly, he added, Coles became active in 1978, when his three-year-old received her diagnosis.
