Asian Art Museum Golden Gala
Marking its 50th year of fine-art exhibitions, the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco hosted its highly anticipated Golden Gala on Thursday, February 11. The elegant affair welcomed a full house of 500 guests, including Museum Director Jay Xu, Gala Chair Akiko Yamazaki and Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom, for an exhilarating auction, seated dinner, and unique live performances. Sought-after items for bid included photographic prints and art works crafted exclusively for the Golden Gala, as well as a private exhibition tour with the museum director himself. Following the cocktail reception and gala dinner, guests continued the celebration with dancing in the Asian Art Museum’s storied halls. Proceeds from the 50th anniversary gala benefited the museum’s burgeoning art, educational and community program efforts.
