Visitor @mesumesu cleverly poses with Andy Warhol’s 1964 “Campbell’s Soup Can” in our Modern Art galleries. By recreating the Campbell’s soup can logo, Warhol produced a graphic that is void of its original context, rather than an object that represented a familiar brand. Warhol explained why he gravitated toward the soup cans, “Because I used to drink it. I used to have the same lunch every day, for twenty years, I guess, the same thing over and over again. Someone said my life has dominated me; I liked that idea.” #lacma #LACMAPlusYou #AndyWarhol #Warhol #PopArt #CampbellsSoup
