In anticipation of the Broad Museum’s opening in 2015, the foundation holds talks around Los Angeles featuring Broad artists and cultural leaders on the topics of contemporary and controversial themes like politics, society, race and identity. Longtime friends Eric Fischl and Steve Martin discuss Fischl’s memoir, Bad Boy, his education at CalArts, the inspiration behind his painting and sculpture, and his works to be featured at the museum including key works from the ’80s such as Haircut, 1985, and Untitled 1982, and The Travel of Romance: Scenes I-V, 1994, among others.
