Following an $8-million renovation, The Warwick in San Francisco now has a new look. The storied property, located two blocks from Union Square, was originally established in 1913 and designed by renowned architect Arthur J. Brown (creative genius behind landmarks such as Coit Tower and City Hall). Revamped by UXUS Design Firm (with offices in both the Netherlands and New York), the newly appointed 74-room hotel features modern guestrooms and suites layered in soft gray and blue tones, original Baroque-inspired headboards, antique mirrored armoires, and geometric-printed accent pillows and wallpaper. Other hints of the past include historic photographs procured from the San Francisco Public Library peppered throughout the hotel. Guests at the hotel can take advantage of a long list of amenities from a house car for morning meetings in the Financial District, to a pillow and technology menu, and a Kids welcome package. The hotel also offers on-site California-inspired eatery Aveline, headed up by Top Chef contestant and Executive Chef Casey Thompson, and The European Bar, with specialty cocktails such as the Royal Highball with cognac and strawberries and the Can Can crafted with Irish whiskey, maple, lavender, and bitters.
