A look from the Prada spring '14 collection.

Leave it to Prada to reinvent the cuff. The Italian fashion house is launching a new collection of daring bright bracelets made of Saffiano textured leather in lollipop shades of tangerine, emerald, ruby, and turquoise. Though they’re crafted from skins, artisans employed haute jewelry techniques to make each accessory look as though it includes faceted precious stones rather than the leather-wrapped shapes that actually appear. Palladium and gold-plated finishes give the pieces an added gleam, and there are also earrings to match. Geometric crystals evoke ’40s Art Deco-era designs and the hibiscus flower motif that appeared in Miuccia Prada’s spring collections is rendered in leather. Soon, bunches of the posies will adorn the wrists of every style setter with a taste for leather.
