For an up-close look at vintage furniture, lighting, rugs, and sculpture, head to this weekend’s Parachute Market. Starting tonight, the Ever Present event, curated by Bianca Chen and Coryander Friend, kicks-off with a preview followed by two days of design with wares from vendors and designers including JF Chen, Reform Gallery, Big Daddy Antiques, Chris Earl, Stephen Kenn, and Otto Design Group. “Bianca and I have come together to maximize both of our curatorial sensibilities within the vintage and new design world,” says Friend. “As a result, we’ve been able to excite the design community by giving them a theme and venue that hasn’t been available in the heart of Hollywood for quite some time.” This year, standouts include pieces by lighting designer Jason Koharik, and handcarved wooden sculptures by New England sculptor Barbara Chappel.

“What is being produced within the current Los Angeles design community echoes the revolutionary period of midcentury California design,” adds Chen. “We’re really seeing a new movement here in Los Angeles. The goal of Parachute Market Ever Present is to showcase this new excitement to the public and to the design community.”
