The lights dim low as the festival comes to an end.

A California state flag with a twig serving as its flagpole rippled over revelers at this year’s Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival as the Red Hot Chili Peppers took the stage on Sunday, August 11, reminding bands and fans alike that they were gathered in the Golden State. Throughout the three-day festival, over 85 acts performed in Golden Gate Park, and, starting on Friday night, after Paul McCartney left the stage, concert goers adopted the refrain from “Hey Jude” as they exited the Polo Field. “Na na na na na na na na, hey Jude” rang out as revelers streamed into the Sunset and the Richmond districts each evening.
