After sitting on the dock of the Bay watching the ships roll in on Pier 27/29 this summer, step into the Louis Vuitton pop-up store at the America’s Cup Village in San Francisco. The French fashion house is celebrating the 30th anniversary of its partnership with the America’s Cup sailing race with a mix of nautical watches, canvas bags, ready-to-wear collections and shoes. Once inside, you’ll find everything you need to view the Louis Vuitton Cup regatta, a series of races between teams from Italy, New Zealand and Sweden that will battle over the next two months for the chance to sail their boat in the final America’s Cup pairings with Larry Ellison’s Oracle Team USA in September. And by the time those nine tactical races begin on September 7, you’ll be armed with a Tambour Louis Vuitton Cup Flyback Automatic Countdown watch to time the winner. The shop, done up in navy blue and white tones, is open on race days at 10am and at noon on all other days, and it closes at 7pm. Shoppers can view the action, streaming coverage and video clips of favorite teams, or head upstairs (by invitation) to the second floor of the salon. Now that’s something to live for while you’re watching the tide roll away.
