Spotlight: Hannah Bronfman
If your resolutions include maintaining an organized beauty regime this year, entrepreneur Hannah Bronfman just made it easier to project the appearance of a person who sticks to regularly-scheduled manicures, haircuts, and massages. Her app, Beautified, gives users instant access to last-minute personal care services in New York, San Francisco, and now Los Angeles. On the iPhone-ready program, nine services are available as last-minute same-day maintenance appointments including facials, manis, pedis, blowouts, haircuts, brow waxing, bikini waxing, massages, and makeup application.
The daughter of businessman Edgar Bronfman, Jr. is also a part-time DJ and perennial fashion darling. And though she’s based in New York, Bronfman found all the best spas and salons in San Francisco and took L.A.’s congested roadways into consideration when planning which places to include on the newest version of the app. “L.A. traffic is no joke!” says Bronfman. “So when vetting salons, we focused more on neighborhoods.” Bronfman’s friends, fashion insiders, and her close relationship with the city’s beauty professionals, all helped her hone in on L.A.’s bustling beauty landscape and determine which beloved spots would be asked to offer their coveted, last minute-appointments via the app. So far, the establishments participating on Beautified are located in West Hollywood and Beverly Hills and include such spots as Hotel Bel-Air Spa by La Prairie, Ole Henriksen, Mèche Salon, and Wax Bikini Bar.
Bronfman has her personal favorite places in L.A. carved out for both last-minute stops and advance appointments. “For massages, I like Ole Henriksen. For facials, I go to Kate Somerville. For blowouts, I head to Nine Zero One. For haircuts, Fekkai. For manicures, I like Chi Nail Bar and for pedicures I go to Olive & June. For brow waxes, I rely on Anastasia Beverly Hills. For a Brazilian, Stark Waxing Studio or Queen Bee Salon & Spa. And if I’m getting my makeup done, I’ll head over to Eden by Eden Sassoon on Sunset.” Clearly this self-proclaimed beauty junkie and budding entrepreneur has done her West Coast homework.
