These days, the eyes have it on Melrose Avenue. British eyewear line, Cutler and Gross has opened its first West Coast boutique in West Hollywood. The company, established in 1969 by optometrists Graham Culter and Tony Gross, is known for devising practical and functional glasses that have become staples among hipsters, architects, and creatives who appreciate clean, modern frames. Though make no mistake, the eyewear is anything but staid. Cutler and Gross’s numerous collaborations include fanciful designs by Erdem, Giles Deacon, Victoria Beckham, and Maison Martin Margiela. Over the years, the frames have also logged screen time in such films as Hannibal and Notting Hill. Now the classic and innovative shapes sit in plain sight, side-by-side in a glossy new boutique with white walls and black stone floors. See for yourself.
