After a year-long trip around the world, Charles and Jenna Jackson were all too familiar with living out of suitcases. “We came across luggage that worked for one occasion and didn’t for another,” says Charles. The experience led the Brentwood couple to launch August, a luxurious line of adaptable, Golden State-made leather accessories including a Portofino Pouchette, which doubles as an evening clutch when not used to pack small belongings, and the Marais Market Tote, an all-purpose bag outfitted with sleek interior pockets. The company is dedicated to giving back to the community as well. For every bag sold, August donates a backpack to Operation School Bell, an organization that provides items to underprivileged students in the Los Angeles Unified School District.
