If you’ve finally decided to forge ahead with fall looks, regardless of the astronomical California temperatures, venture no further than Assembly Los Angeles. The independent boutique run by Greg Armas (formerly of Scout Los Angeles), which opened last May on Melrose Avenue, is stocking lush coats designed by Sandy Liang, a Parsons graduate who is making a name for herself in outerwear. Also on shelves are designs by Central Saint Martins grad Chelsea Goldman whose C. F. Goldman line includes polished minimalist pieces that are shaped just so. Moreover, the shop’s eponymous line includes such new introductions as Chelsea boots and leather belts and accessories. Isn’t it time to give those sandals and sundresses a well-deserved rest?
