When it comes to creating refined digital content, stylist and author Anne Sage has it covered. Since first breaking into the digital sphere in 2008, Sage has won over a loyal following with her lifestyle blog, City Sage, and well-edited Instagram feed (@citysage)—chock-full of dreamy interiors, decor ideas, recipes and style inspiration all presented in a beautiful muted palette. This same singular aesthetic has since been translated into the tastemaker’s first book, Sage Living: How to Decorate for the Life You Want, which debuted in the fall of 2015.

Now, Sage is inviting like-minded creatives to her latest venture: Light Lab—a renovated, light-filled industrial space in Atwater Village which serves as blank canvas to rent for events, photo shoots and company offsites, as well as Sage’s own workplace. Co-founded along with husband-and-wife photography duo Caroline and Jayden Lee, the creative hub was designed with social media in mind: “We wanted every corner of the studio to be photogenic, for our own purposes as well as for others using the space,” says Sage of the interiors, which boasts a plush velvet pink sofa, exposed white-painted brick walls and vibrant textiles.

This weekend, the California native is putting this idea to the test by holding a photography and styling workshop with veteran stylist and event producer Annette Joseph (@annettejosephstyle). Each will divulge their styling know-how during the two-day event as participants utilize props and surfaces within the space, capture food vignettes and learn powerful career objectives—from social-media strategy to brand-building tips. “We’ll be covering the foundations of great design and how to apply them to making images that are harmonious for the eye and inspiring to the imagination,” explains Sage. “But perhaps even bigger than those things, we’ll learn a new way of seeing the world around you so you can move into 2017 with your creative juices flowing.” This not-to-be-missed event won’t take place again until the two team up for a second workshop in Italy this June.

As she gears up for a fun-filled weekend at Light Lab, Sage takes us on a photo tour of her favorite double-tap worthy places in the Golden State.
