“The number one thing I learned immediately is that it’s all about community,” said Eva Amurri Martino about motherhood at a luncheon held for the launch of her new blog, Happily Eva After, that took place at her Los Angeles home on Tuesday, September 1. The actress-turned-blogger, who is married to NBC Sports’s Kyle Martino, started the site after her now 1-year-old daughter Marlowe was born. She envisions it as a resource for other moms, and a digital outlet to tell the many sides of the motherhood story. “I wanted an honest and open outlet to share my experiences with other women, and for them to share with me,” said Martino. The New York native likes the accountability of penning her thoughts during the week, and plans to launch a Sunday morning advice column soon. “This way when readers send questions, they’ll get a longer answer than what I can type into Instagram,” Martino adds. She’s also branching into Snapchat to talk with readers. “My biggest goal is to reach as many women as possible,” she said. “I want to create a community for women to be who they are: hands-on moms, creatives, people with careers and families.”
