The holiday gifting countdown has officially begun. And the clock is ticking. Finding the perfect present is always a challenge, but putting together a thoughtful and chic assortment of unique items can be even more demanding. Luckily, Julie Van Daele of Well Received has anticipated such a quest and created artful compilations of items sure to delight those with an eye for detail on your gift list. Well Received large gift boxes contain her made-in-California stationery as well as a ceramic candle by Encinitas-based Norden, two lined notebooks by Public Supply, and two concrete succulent pots ideal for desks, sun-filled decks, or even an Airstream. Small boxes contain an edited version of this combination. Van Daele selected the candles for the quality of the hand-thrown ceramic containers surrounding the wax and the inventive scents devised by Erika and Pete Panciera. She’s drawn to Public Supply’s clean design and to the company’s mission to “give back to creative arts education at public schools around the country.” The New York-based company gives 25 percent of profits from each item sold to teachers in high-needs classrooms. There you have it, the perfect gender-neutral gift, boxed and ready to give. Plus, there’s still plenty of time left on the clock.
