Detroit-based Shinola, the much-discussed lifestyle brand known for reviving manufacturing in Michigan, is continuing its westward expansion with a new brick-clad shop on Abbot Kinney in Venice. The space, stocked with watches, bicycles, journals, and monogram-ready leather goods, also includes a listening lounge for testing audio equipment—Shinola’s next venture. Spin over for a bike tuneup, pick up a chronograph, and prepare to outfit your bungalow with leather headphones plus turntables and speakers. With the dotcoms swarming nearby, the space is certainly a welcome respite from the ever-encroaching digital world of zeros and ones.
