Academy Award® Winner, Robert Redford, is the narrator of National Parks Adventure, his second film with MacGillivray Freeman Films.

“Imagine, an entire continent of unmapped wilderness, and a people who believed that the greatest natural wonders belonged to no one, they belonged to all,” says Robert Redford in the new IMAX film, National Parks Adventure opening on Friday, February 12. Hikers, climbers, mountain bikers, and wilderness seekers alike who find themselves city-bound this weekend can spend the better part of an hour dreaming up new outdoor treks while watching footage shot inside over 30 national parks across the country and narrated by Redford. Helicopters, boats, drones, and handheld cameras sore, dive, and speed through pristine natural areas to capture a snapshot of the beloved mountains, lakes, rivers, valleys, natural rock formations, and countless trails that have been preserved for the past century. The film’s first shoot took place at Yosemite National Park where conservationist John Muir and President Theodore Roosevelt met to discuss what the parks system should be, and, 100 years later, it’s easy to see what captivated them and inspired the creation of America’s parks system. Catch a showing at the California Science Center in Los Angeles or at the Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose, then head for the hills.
