Perfect Pairing: Kyle Schuneman + Apt2B
Interior designer Kyle Schuneman is doing his part to transform apartments in Los Angeles one sofa at a time. The decorator and author of The First Apartment Book: Cool Design for Small Spaces, has joined forces with furniture purveyor Apt2B for the debut of his new summer collection featuring four new styles of sofas and armchairs in pale pastel hues from butter to light green. “This is my second collection with Apt2B, and I wanted these four new silhouettes to feel a bit more grown-up, but still very hip and urban,” says the Illinois native, whose projects have appeared in numerous magazines including Dwell, Sunset, and House Beautiful. “I was inspired by the pastels I saw on the Spring runway, and wanted to incorporate those yellows and mints to really create statement pieces.” The four designs, ranging in style from clean-lined to tufted, come in a variety of dimensions, fabrics, and finishes. “I love mixing textures in a room with woods and metals and interesting fabrics, so this is a great way to get a layered look,” says Schuneman. “I think in general, the sofa can be a great jumping off point for a room, so I love that we can offer people such bold choices on very sophisticated silhouettes that feel timeless.”
