Every summer, Shutters on the Beach teams up with local designers to create an iconic beach bag (past years have featured styles by Clare Vivier and Joie), available exclusively through the Santa Monica resort. This season, Shutters has teamed up with L.A. native James Perse to create a limited-edition tote. Made of a Italian oil cloth that is stone-washed for softness and wax-treated to prevent stains from beach necessities like sunscreen and/or watermelon, it reflects Perse’s simple and classic aesthetic. The canvas bag comes emblazoned with James Perse and Shutters on the Beach logos on the interior.

Also featured in the James Perse collection is an assortment of T-shirts printed with a “California” script and palm tree designs, rash guards, sweatshirts and children’s apparel. All of the pieces can be purchased at the hotel’s Cottage Gift Shop or its online store.
