Perfect Pairing: Jacquie Aiche + Mother
“We all love our denim shirts,” says jewelry designer Jacquie Aiche, explaining why she and longtime friend Lela Becker co-founder of the L.A.-based denim line Mother decided to create custom snake-and-deerskin-adorned shirts just in time for fall. “I made snakeskin jackets for a trip Lela and I took to Paris using the motifs on my python pouches and we wanted to make something for daily use with the same customization possibilities,” she adds. Becker and Mother designer and co-founder Tim Kaeding had shirts made in a special cut for the collaboration, and Aiche added pyramids, eyes, emerald motifs and other tribal symbols crafted from her trademark skins. “We’re also working on leather cut in birthstone-colored lambskin,” says Aiche. With these possibilities, you’ll never wear a plain denim shirt again.
