Is your dull dinnerware causing culinary apathy? The master artisans at Sausalito-based Heath Ceramics have a singular solution. This month, Heath Ceramics Los Angeles is once again collaborating with nonprofit organization Skid Row Housing Trust to collect lightly used plates and mugs. The Trust develops and manages 23 residential buildings for the homeless and those at risk of losing adequate housing in L.A. and collected dishes go to community kitchens and to new residents in community housing. In exchange for the donated plates and mugs, Heath’s L.A. boutique is offering a 25 percent discount on dinnerware. New designs, including the patterned Camelia Cocoa Place Setting set, named after the Alabama state flower, are sure to inspire a late-summer dinner party. And just like that, aiding a non-profit has inspired an evening barbeque spread and pulled you out of summer’s dog days.
