San Francisco-based Cuyana, an apparel and accessories brand founded on a less-is-more philosophy, has arrived in Venice to stay. Initially launched as a pop-up shop on Abbot Kinney, the boutique is now a permanent fixture on the storied shopping street stocking totes, travel pouches, scarves, straw fedoras, and modern clothing, all designed for repeated use on chic jet-setting ventures or everyday errands. Selections can be monogrammed in shop, and co-founders Karla Gallardo and Shilpa Shah have insisted that the space remain small and optimized. Like the San Francisco shop, this store functions as an atelier and outerwear as well as other Cuyana designs can be found and ordered online. The new boutique reminds us there’s no time like the present to edit and pare down as the year winds down.
