Perfect Pairing: Chanel Watches + Neiman Marcus
At first glance, it feels as though one has stepped through the proverbial looking-glass. Standing inside the newly opened Chanel Watch boutique at Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills is like entering an alternate world of haute horlogerie. A series of secret drawers, elegantly suspended bird cages, and modern vitrines—all dreamed up by architect Peter Marino—house meticulously-designed timepieces, many of which are awash in sparkling diamonds. In addition to limited edition tickers, the shop contains designs from the Première, J12, Mademoiselle Privé, and Boy.Friend watch collections. Circular ceramic versions sit near rectangular chain bracelet watches and tickers with oversized faces and leather bands are buckled around sculptures carved to look like hands. Throughout this dreamworld, the designs are arranged amid the French fashion house’s neutral palette of gold, black, and beige. So stay a while, there’ll always be another tea party.
