Christy Matson and Jane Palmer, the duo who recently launched a Los Angeles-based cashmere line, Matson + Palmer, honed the master craft of their profession long before delving into production. They learned to work looms and dye yarn, literally getting their hands wet (soaked even, and colored) during the process. In this age of technology, Matson and Palmer filmed their decidedly lo-fi approach to craftsmanship, depicting the transformation of yarn into beautiful two-layer woven blankets at their downtown studio.

Viewing the laborious process gives new meaning, and a certain elegance, to the term handicraft.
