FACE

“Using Chanel Perfection Lumiere Long-Wear Flawless Fluid Sunscreen Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 and Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour SPF 15 in No. 50, I accentuated her cheekbones by contouring and highlighting. The trick is to use several shades to create dark and light and to do lots of blending, leaving the skin looking free of makeup and even. I kept Kravitz’s freckles showing as this keeps her face soft, tonal, and natural. "

"I used Chanel Powder Blush in Frivole, a satin-like peachy-pink tone, on the apples of the cheeks and above to create a glow to Kravitz’s face, bringing out her high cheekbones."

"I set her face with Chanel Natural Finish Pressed Powder in Natural.”

EYES

“To create some drama and accentuate Kravitz's beautiful almond eyes, I first mixed the lightest shade of the Chanel Quadra Eyeshadow in Variation with rose water and using an angled fluffy brush, I painted a shimmery highlight sweeping the color across the upper lid and around the inner eye. I then used the charcoal shade in the Quad below the eyes, extending the color outward to meet the highlight."

"Finishing the eye look, I swept Chanel Automatic Liquid Eyeliner in Noir on the top lash line."

"I curled the lashes and gave them just one coat of Chanel Inimitable Intense Mascara in Noir. "

"I defined her brow with the Chanel Sculpting Eye Brow Pencil in Noir Cendre to give a stronger, edgier frame.”

LIPS

“We used Chanel Rouge Coco Baume Hydrating Conditioning Lip Balm to keep the lips tonal with the skin while also creating a soft and moisturized appearance.”

Zoë Kravitz turned up at the Los Angeles Premiere of Divergent held at the Regency Bruin Theatre in Westwood on Tuesday, March 18, wearing a white Balenciaga dress that she paired with bold dark brows. Makeup artist Kara Yoshimoto Bua for Chanel found herself toughening up the frock by focusing her attention on Kravitz’s eyes. “I was inspired by her ethereal off-white dress, so I created an edgier and ‘harder’ eye look that contrasted with the softness of the lacey material of her dress.” Indeed, the airy dress designed by Alexander Wang as part of his spring 2014 collection for the French fashion house contrasts with the look of Kravitz’s character in posters for the new film based on the novel by Veronica Roth. She plays a character called Christina, a part of the Dauntless faction whose members are known for their  fearlessness, who is the best friend of the female protagonist Tris (played by Shailene Woodley) and is shown in a black abbreviated tank throwing a knife. Here’s a detailed list of the products and techniques Bua used to create Kravitz’s look for the Divergent premiere.
