California Beauty: Eva Green
“We decided on a soft eye with a bold lip to contrast with the gold dress and Eva’s amazing green eyes,” said makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury of the look she created for Golden Globe nominee Eva Green on Sunday, January 10. “Eva wanted to introduce old Hollywood glam with a modern take, but still keep the look elegant, clean, fresh and classic,” Tilbury added. To that end, the British makeup artist brushed golden shades of eyeshadow across Green’s lids and drew a bold red lip using her trademark shade, 1975 Red.
FACE
To prep Eva’s skin and ensure a flawless canvas, Tilbury began with Goddess Skin Clay Mask, then Magic Cream on the entire face followed by Wonderglow to create a flawless soft focus finish, an instant spotlight effect, which acted as the perfect base for Magic Foundation in 2 Fair and 3 Fair (available this spring). Tilbury applied Mini Miracle Eye Wand in Shade 1 and Shade 2 underneath the eyes and dusted Airbrush Flawless Finish Skin Perfecting Micro-Powder in 1 Fair and 2 Medium. Filmstar Bronze & Glow in Light-Medium highlighted and sculpted the cheek, nose, jawline and temples. in addition to a touch of Norman Parkinson Dreamy Glow Highlighter on the tops of Eva’s cheekbones and down her nose. Cheek to Chic in Love Glow topped off Green’s cheeks. Tilbury used a swish of the outer shade across cheekbones and pop of the inner shade just at the apples.
EYES
For golden lids, Tilbury applied a mixture of Mesmerise Cream Eyeshadow in Bette and Marie Antoinette across the lids, adding her Classic Eyeliner Powder Pencil in Audrey around the eye. Three coats of Full Fat Lashes to the top and bottom lashes created an open-eyed look. Brow Lift in Cara D and Brooke S worked to perfect brows and shape the face.
LIPS
Tilbury put the finishing touches on Eva’s Golden Globes look with the perfect bold, red lip by using Lip Cheat Lip Liner in Kiss ‘N’ Tell followed by Matte Revolution Lipstick in 1975 Red.
