California Beauty: Claire Danes
“When I saw Claire’s hand-beaded Valentino gown, I was immediately struck with inspiration,” said makeup artist Matin Maulawizada who created actress Claire Danes’ look for the 2015 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, January 11, held at the Beverly Hilton. Danes paired the blue, green, and tan gown with Lorraine Schwartz jewelry for her fifth nomination in a category she was won three times: Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series (she was recognized twice for her role as Carrie Mathison in Homeland, and once for playing Angela Chase in My So-Called Life). Matin used NARS hues to create bold eyes that echoed Danes’ blue earrings. “We agreed that her eyes should be the focus,” said Matin. “So I matched her eyeshadow to the gorgeous peacock blue of her dress to create a brighter, edgier smoky look.”
