“Amy wore a breathtaking Versace dress in geranium,” said makeup artist Stephen Sollitto who created actress Amy Adams’ look for the Golden Globe Awards held on Sunday, January 10. “Because the gown was such a beautiful hue, I decided not to compete with it, keeping the palette fresh with tans and bronze,” he added. Rather than mimic the color of Adams’ Atelier Versace gown, or riff on it, Sollitto opted for a beige lipstick with a hint of pink, a color that defined Adams’ lips, but allowed them to retain a natural glow. The dress shown in the sunlight, and Adams’ fresh makeup look allowed her to appear as though she had just returned from an afternoon spent poolside. In all, it was a refreshing contrast to the bevy of bright lips on display throughout the evening.
