“This is new youth culture’s take on high fashion—everything is very individual and personal,” said makeup artist Diane Kendal who used NARS Cosmetics to create the nearly nude looks for Alexander Wang‘s Fall 2016 show held in New York on Saturday, February 13. Wang’s show, held at St. Bartholomew’s church on Park Avenue included preppy sweaters and shirts emblazoned with strippers, rather than ponies, and the street looks he’s honed so well over the years. The looks seemed particularly defiant shown in the context of a working church, but his continued use of a nude makeup palette over the past few years may still be his most rebellious act yet.
