For eleven years, tastemaker Nilou Ghodsi has been meticulously curating clothing and accessories from designers such as Isabel Marant and Ulla Johnson at her Venice boutique, Heist. The 2,000-square-foot shop—fashioned with exposed brick walls, Barcelona-style chairs, and industrial-inspired chandeliers—is lined with finds including relaxed cotton button-downs by Frank & Eileen, leather satchels by Jerome Dreyfuss, v-neck pullovers by Raquel Allegra, and sheer, studded scarves by Avant Toi. When Ghodsi isn’t logging hours at the boutique, the mother of two is busy roaming the neighborhood at spots such as Gjelina, or checking-in for a staycation with her husband at The Peninsula, Beverly Hills. Now, she tells C her no-fail Los Angeles staples.

MADEWELL
I go in here to shop for my girls and always leave with a few things for myself. They have really great basics and I love their jeans. And, Barney’s for their shoe selection. It’s pretty well curated and they have lines I don’t carry in my store. But other than that, I really don’t shop at any other stores for clothing. I pretty much have everything I want to wear in my own store, which is why I always say its a bigger version of my closet.
MUJI
I don’t ever think I need or set out to buy anything, but somehow I end up finding things there from a washcloth with the perfect texture, to the best all-in-one travel toiletry bag that is just right in every aspect, or the softest cotton squares for removing eye makeup, and great pens.
GJELINA
I love it because every single thing on the menu is amazing. I eat here three times a week, so I order a variety and everything is farm to table so their menu changes seasonally. But some favorites are burrata with roasted peaches,
tuscan kale salad, and grilled radicchio and bacon pizza.
THE TASTING KITCHEN
Their cocktails are insane, especially the Navy Sour.
HEIST
I always like to take a beautiful coffee table book as a hostess gift, if I know the person well enough. That’s why I stock a nice variety of them at the boutique.
ELVINO
I love that they are a boutique wine shop and carry labels not found everywhere.
KREATION
For their “Enlighten” juice. I drink two bottles a day!
MOON JUICE
I go to Moon Juice for fresh almond milk.
THE PENINSULA BEVERLY HILLS
My husband and I sometimes check into one of their bungalows for a weekend of luxury and romance.
