Women’s Cancer Research Fund’s Unforgettable Evening
Los Angeles’ top patrons and entertainment names came together for An Unforgettable Evening benefiting the Women’s Cancer Research Fund on Thursday, February 17. Honorary chairs Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks joined the organization’s founders—Quinn Ezralow, Marion Laurie, Kelly Chapman Meyer and Jaime Tisch—at the Beverly Hills Hotel following a three-year hiatus from the notable event. Presented by Saks Fifth Avenue for the thirteenth time, the evening was hosted by comedian and breast cancer survivor Tig Notaro and included an award ceremony, presenting fashion visionary Tom Ford with the 2017 Courage Award and philanthropists Judy and Leonard Lauder with the The Nat King Cole Award for their charitable works and contributions to the cause. Guests like sportscaster Erin Andrews, actor Isla Fisher and Australian model Jessica Hart enjoyed a surprise performance by Chris Martin followed by a concert by Jason Derulo to close out the successful night, which raised $1.8 million towards the cause. As a program of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the organization supports education, and outreach directed at the development of more effective approaches to the early diagnosis, treatment and prevention of women’s cancers.
